HENRY COUNTY, Ill.--The state of Illinois has put two local counties on alert for the Emerald Ash Borer. Henry and Knox counties are now under quarantine because of confirmed infestations. That means no live Ash trees or firewood can be moved from the counties. Right now in Illinois, infestations have spread to about 40 percent of the state.
The University of Illinois Extension Service plans to offer Emerald Ash Borer management programs in Henry and Knox counties in the spring.
Visit Illinois Department of Agriculture website to help identify infected trees, find a certified tree contractor, learn about treatment options, and more.
